And in the very same way, Arecibo can be considered as one of the most prominent icons of our outer-world strivings, which is natural science.

Both do, in some way, represent the highest achievements of their respective time, the most ambitioned, delicate and far-reaching endeavours. And both together represent precisely the very core of our values: חכמה and בינה, wisdom and understanding. They represent our civilisation - which apparently has come to an end.
